Disney World Diary | Day 7

Even though my last day in my Disney World diary went up in June, I've decided to finish it off. I'm so excited about my upcoming holiday, despite it being just over 5 months away - and going through my photos makes the wait a bit more bearable.

Animal Kingdom was on the agenda again today. Although it was extra magic hours, we had a lie in instead due to our late night the night before. We started our day with a walk over to Africa, admiring the birds on the way. From there we used our FastPass for Kilimanjaro Safaris.

We then grabbed some breakfast from Tamu Tamu Refreshments.  I had some fruit inside a pineapple and Lewis had a chicken salad with pita. We thought it was a really nice use of a quick service credit. Afterwards we made our way to Dinoland USA for a ride of Dinosaur before catching the Finding Nemo and Flights of Wonder shows.

We also visited Rafiki's Planet Watch, where they had a little petting zoo with goats and pigs etc. It was here where I got chased around by the biggest bug I've ever seen in my life. I loved Florida, but the bugs get a big nope from me.

Before we left the park we had a late lunch at Yak & Yeti, somewhere I wanted to visit on Kayleigh's recommendation. We both had the honey chicken but I could barely make a dent in mine, there was so much rice and veg underneath!

The heat was getting to us a bit so we made our way back to the hotel for a rest before heading out to Downtown Disney for the evening. It was there I noticed Basin, an amazing bath and body shop. I ended up buying some bath bombs and salts from here later in the holiday.

We also finished off with a late dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express. Lewis had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with onion rings which he'd highly recommend, and I had a pizza. Since we had another early start tomorrow, this time at Universal, we hopped on the bus back to Caribbean Beach and called it a night.

Disney World Diary | Day 2

For our first full day we were up bright and early to get to Magic Kingdom for opening (though this was the only park opening we made bar Universal!). This was the park I was most looking forward to. There are people who generalise Magic Kingdom as a kids park, but as someone who isn't into thrill rides and prefers the theming, details and atmosphere more than anything, it's perfect.

Our first stop was the Main Street Bakery for some breakfast and then off to Tomorrowland to use our first Fastpass, which we actually didn't need. We also headed to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and ended up loving it, it's such a great interactive show.

Next up was Fantasyland. We ended up doing most of the rides in the area (including my favourite, Haunted Mansion) with little to no wait time, so we stopped for a drink at Gaston's Tavern. If you're heading to Disney World soon and you have a serious sweet tooth, you need to try LeFou's Brew. It's a frozen apple drink with marshmallow and a mango/passion fruit foam on top. We loved it so much we had three throughout the holiday!

After a bit of a wander we headed to Be Our Guest for our FastPass+ lunch reservation. If you haven't managed to grab a FastPass for this restaurant, the wait to get in is colossal. You could easily be waiting an hour to get in. However, it's such a beautiful restaurant. We ate in the main dining hall which is an exact replica of the ballroom from Beauty and the Beast. It's seriously, seriously impressive, though it does get a bit loud. We couldn't fault the food either, and I had a particular affinity towards the Master's Cupcake, which is topped with The Grey Stuff (it's delicious).

After lunch we headed back down to Main Street for the Festival of Fantasy parade. I absolutely love it! The costumes, music and floats are all incredibly impressive and there's so much detail you just don't know where to look.

After a few more rides we made our way back to the hotel to get changed before catching the bus to Downtown Disney for our reservation at the Rainforest Cafe. We really enjoyed the food here - I had the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and Lewis opted for a chicken dish. The cocktails were my highlight though, I had the Pink Parrot Lemonade and Lewis went for the Green Python (which tasted like gummy worms).

We were absolutely shattered after our meals so we had a quick look around some of the shops before heading back to the room for some well needed sleep. Next up, Animal Kingdom!

Disney World Diary | Day 1

Hello! You probably haven't noticed, but I haven't posted over the past couple of weeks. The reason being that I had jetted away to sunny Florida for two weeks! I'm sadly back now after having the best time, and since a lot of people who read this blog are fellow Disney lovers I thought I'd do a little diary of sorts - it's really more for me though, so I can look back on it in future!

We set off on the 5th to Manchester airport via the train, and stayed the night at Bewleys Hotel. It was £35 each for the night and it was a nice way to start the holiday. We were up bright and early for our flight the next morning, and had a pretty slow and uneventful flight to Florida. After checking in and heading to our room to get changed, we made our way to the Boardwalk on Kayleigh's recommendation for a bite to eat. I'm really glad that she recommended it as we probably wouldn't have visited otherwise - the sandwiches from the Boardwalk Bakery were heavenly!

We were feeling pretty full (and tired at that) after our meal so we caught the boat back to Hollywood Studios before hopping on the bus to our resort to get some sleep. We were so impressed with everything already, and we'd only been there a couple of hours! On to Magic Kingdom tomorrow!
