It's been a little while since I put up my first "Currently Loving" post. In fact, it was way back in October. Since then I've indulged in more products that is probably healthy for my bank balance, but I've been careful about what I've bought instead of caving into blogger hype (still avoiding the Naked 3, fyi).
I'll start off by mentioning my newest lipstick addition, from the Chanel Spring collection. Radiant orchid is said to be the colour of 2014, and the Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in L'Adoree is the perfect definition. It's a very unusual shade, but not so much so that it looks strange on the lips. The matte finish was something I was weary of, however it's the best matte formula I've ever tried. I love the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, but I do find they tug at the lips during application. Chanel's offerings just glide on, however, making them easy to apply - particularly when you're on the go.
Next up is the The Body Shop's Rainforest Volume Shampoo. As mentioned in my "2014 Beauty Resolutions" post, I've been trying to avoid shampoos containing SLS. Prior to trying this I was using the L'Oreal EverRiche Nourishing & Taming Shampoo, but I felt it just made my hair oilier than it was already. This one however smells amazing, and although I haven't noticed any volumising effects it's certainly doing the job of cleaning it.
I couldn't not mention my Inglot palette (review here) in this post. I've been using it constantly over the past few weeks as the quality is just beautiful. It's definitely one of my favourite eyeshadow purchases and I might even make up a second when I'm in Florida this year.
Last but not least is the Yves Rocher Comfort Cream Foundation. I bought this after reading it was a favourite of makeup artist Linda Hallberg (seriously, her makeup is flawless), and Yves Rocher actually had a buy one get one free offer on at the time. It's a great medium coverage foundation that doesn't sit heavy on the skin. The shade range is slightly limited, however. I have the shade Beige 100 and I think anyone with paler skin than myself could struggle for a match.
Have you bought anything recently that's weaselled its way to the top of your list?

Great products. I bought the shampoo and conditioner in the sales but haven't tried it yet and am looking forward to trying it :o) Xx

Hope you like them! xx
DeleteLove the look of the Chanel lipstick :) reminds me a little bit of MAC Faux for some reason! Also the Inglot palette seems wonderful. Will have to treat myself sometime soon! Xx
ReplyDeleteI actually lost my Faux lipstick (it's probably lying around somewhere, though!) so I can't compare, but I think L'Adoree is a little less nude and more purple toned. Can 100% recommend the Inglot eyeshadows though, the quality is outstanding! xx
DeleteI've been using The Body Shop shampoos and conditioners recently and although I haven't had very good experience of them doing what they say on the bottle, they leave my hair feeling super clean and they ALWAYS smell gorgeous, especially Rainforest Moisture x

I don't think I've ever experienced a shampoo doing what it claims it should, but as long as they keep my greasy roots to a minimum I'm happy with it :) x
DeleteThe Chanel lipstick and the Inglot palette look amazing! Also I may need to try the TBS shampoo (everything that says "volume" on it, I'm sold!).

I think the shampoo is actually on sale on their website if you want to grab it for cheaper! x
DeleteThat Inglot palette has the most gorgeous shades, I'm in love O:
ReplyDeleteCasualllyawkward
It really is stunning! I wish I'd bought a bigger palette to add more shades.
DeleteGaah, your Inglot palette looks absolutely beautiful!

It's totally worth the investment! Delivery is a pricey £5 but it works out cheaper than build your own MAC palettes by a mile :) x
DeleteOh great picks. That Chanel lipstick looks gorgeous, unusual shade! :-) xx

I have to admit I wasn't really drawn to the other lipsticks in the Spring collection but this was so unlike anything I have! xx
DeleteThe colours in the Inglot palette are lovely! I adore Body Shop's shampoo too but I tend to go for the Olive one as it makes my hair really soft and shiny!

Ooh, I'll look into that next time I need a new bottle. I love shampoos that make my hair soft but it's more the ends that need the conditioning, not the roots!
DeleteLove the look of that palette!
ReplyDeleteI think it's my favourite eyeshadow investment by far!
DeleteLove the Inglot palette, I really should stop splurging, but I may have indulged in the Naked 3 haha ;)

Oh, please tell me you hate it?! Haha everyone keeps talking about how great it is and I need to avoid it at all costs! xx
DeleteI love the Chanel Rouge allures as well this colour sounds really interesting and love the palette!
ReplyDeleteGenna at Lipstick Crush
When I tried it in store I couldn't get over how nice it felt on the lips, so unlike any matte lipstick I've tried in the past!
DeleteI definitely need to try out Inglot eyeshadows. I've heard such incredible things about them and I love the packaging as well.

I'm a big fan of the Inglot packaging too. Most palettes with magnet fastenings tend to just pop straight open but these are actually really strong, so much so it got stuck to my table when I was photographing it haha xx
DeleteThat Chanel lipstick looks stunning; one of these days I need to splurge on one myself! I'd love to see a look with that shade :)

Lovely Notions
I might pop one up at the weekend!
DeleteStill need to make my own Inglot eyeshadow palette one day! Love the shades you picked out :) I'm using a SLS-free L'Oreal shampoo but I feel it's only so-so...may have to explore other options like from TBS.
ReplyDeleteI don't think TBS shampoo lathers up as well as the L'Oreal one I was using but I just couldn't get away with the constant greasiness!
DeleteOo the body shop shampoo definitely sounds like one to try. Adore the shades in your inglot palette too - the ones on the right look goooorgeous! xx
ReplyDeleteThey do an amazing smelling banana shampoo & conditioner too, might even pick them up next time. The two eyeshadow shades you mentioned are definitely the standouts, they're beautiful! xx
DeleteInglot shadows are gorgeous & I am loving your quad!

I'm trying to refrain from purchasing more, they're perfect!
