Disney's Polynesian Resort - Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

One of my favourite places at Disney World is the Polynesian resort. Situated on the opposite side of Seven Seas Lagoon to Magic Kingdom, it is one of two resorts that originally opened with the Magic Kingdom on 1st October 1971 - the other being the Contemporary resort. It has retained its tropical feel over the years, with its sandy beaches and Southern Pacific style.

One of the newest additions to the resort however, is Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. Inspired by Disneyland's Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar, they serve tiki cocktails and savoury food in an interactive bar environment.

Autumn at Disney World

...Or fall. Whatever your name may be for the season, it sure is a great time to visit Disney World. The orange and golden hues displayed around the parks are simply stunning. Not to mention the seasonal costume changes, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, exclusive snacks and the always hotly anticipated Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.

Prague Snaps

Last week me and Lewis ventured off to Prague. It was only my second plane holiday and I was excited to fly again. The novelty soon wore off though when I was struck by a huge sinus pain in my head that lasted hours. On the second day we decided to grab a Trdelnik from the markets and ended up ill. Not a fantastic start but every other aspect was fab! Here's a few snaps from the trip.

Edinburgh

On Saturday my boyfriend and I journeyed up to Edinburgh for the weekend. I'd been to the zoo plenty of times as a kid, but never to Edinburgh itself so I was really quite excited. We stayed in the Residence Inn by Marriott, which was beautifully designed and even had a kitchen. I'd highly recommend visiting the city, the architecture is stunning and there's so much to do. I'd love to go back and experience the Underground Ghost Tour! Here's a few snaps from our trip.

The National Museum of Scotland is well worth a trip, there is a ton to see! I'd also recommend Frisky, the frozen yoghurt shop, Papii for the most amazing breakfast waffles and a browse around Harvey Nichols (which has a Space NK inside too). Have you ever been to Edinburgh? What would you recommend?

*If you're wondering what on earth is going on with the topless guy, I have no idea either. He just whipped his shirt off and started doing pushups! People are odd.

I turned 20 yesterday! It's really odd how time has flown over the past year, but I've had a good'un. I never really do much for birthdays, but since being bit by the travel bug I'm always wanting to go places. So I suggested to Lewis that we take a last minute trip to the Lakes for a few days. I honestly feel like the luckiest girl on the planet to have him, because he treats me so well! We had a great time, the Lake District is definitely one of the most beautiful places in England.

disneyland paris (part 2).

I thought I'd post some more photos from our trip to Disneyland. I forgot to mention in my other post that while we were there, we witnessed possibly one of the most adorable things I've ever seen in my life. A little girl around 3 years old dressed as Cinderella, walking up to a little boy approximately the same age and planting a kiss on him, so cute!

Apologies in advance for the picture heavy post, but I thought I'd share some photos from our trip to Disneyland Paris last week. This was our second time going this year, and our second time abroad together. Although we enjoyed our trip in April, it was a 17 hour coach trip and the parks were incredibly busy as it was Easter weekend. We took the trip again because an email popped up into my inbox from Voyage Prive, and we ended up grabbing 3 nights bed and breakfast at the Sequoia Lodge (on site), 4 day park passes as well as flights for £358pp, bargain in my opinion! 

I can't understand why the place is loaded with bad reviews on TripAdvisor, it kind of makes me think that some people visit places just to complain! My only complaint at the end of this trip was how much my feet hurt and how I disliked the smoking but hey ho not my country at the end of the day. It was also my first flight ever, and words can't describe how nervous I was getting onto that plane. Luckily I thought it was great and I have a whole list of places I'd like to visit!

    

How beautiful was the sunset on our flight home?! Reminds me of the opening scene to The Lion King, ha! These are just a tiny fraction of the photos we have from the trip so I'd be happy to do a second post if you'd like to see more!

The Making of Harry Potter

On Friday me and Lewis ventured on a coach trip to Leavesden Studios, where the Harry Potter films were made. It was unbelievable, there is so much detail that you can't even begin to comprehend, let alone appreciate just by watching the films. Every little thing is designed down to a tee, and I can't put into words how much respect I have for the talented people that work on films like these. The only downsides to our trip were the high prices in the gift shop (Lewis was lovely and bought me a Marauder's Map mug) and travelling back to our hotel in the coach at a temperature of 30 degrees! We stayed at the Jurys Inn Milton Keynes, which was fantastic for the price we paid - such a gorgeous view from our room!

Apologies for the picture heavy post - I could have easily uploaded more as I got incredibly trigger happy trying to capture the detail in everything! If you're a Potter fan, you really need to do this. It's £28 for an adult ticket but worth every penny! I was so overwhelmed that I feel like I need to go back a second time to take it all in. I'm going to upload the rest of my photos to my Flickr, so hopefully they'll all be up by tomorrow night!
