Currently Loving #2

It's been a little while since I put up my first "Currently Loving" post. In fact, it was way back in October. Since then I've indulged in more products that is probably healthy for my bank balance, but I've been careful about what I've bought instead of caving into blogger hype (still avoiding the Naked 3, fyi).

I'll start off by mentioning my newest lipstick addition, from the Chanel Spring collection. Radiant orchid is said to be the colour of 2014, and the Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in L'Adoree is the perfect definition. It's a very unusual shade, but not so much so that it looks strange on the lips. The matte finish was something I was weary of, however it's the best matte formula I've ever tried. I love the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, but I do find they tug at the lips during application. Chanel's offerings just glide on, however, making them easy to apply - particularly when you're on the go.

Next up is the The Body Shop's Rainforest Volume Shampoo. As mentioned in my "2014 Beauty Resolutions" post, I've been trying to avoid shampoos containing SLS. Prior to trying this I was using the L'Oreal EverRiche Nourishing & Taming Shampoo, but I felt it just made my hair oilier than it was already. This one however smells amazing, and although I haven't noticed any volumising effects it's certainly doing the job of cleaning it.

I couldn't not mention my Inglot palette (review here) in this post. I've been using it constantly over the past few weeks as the quality is just beautiful. It's definitely one of my favourite eyeshadow purchases and I might even make up a second when I'm in Florida this year. 

Last but not least is the Yves Rocher Comfort Cream Foundation. I bought this after reading it was a favourite of makeup artist Linda Hallberg (seriously, her makeup is flawless), and Yves Rocher actually had a buy one get one free offer on at the time. It's a great medium coverage foundation that doesn't sit heavy on the skin. The shade range is slightly limited, however. I have the shade Beige 100 and I think anyone with paler skin than myself could struggle for a match.

The Body Shop Earth Lover Shower Gel - Pear and Lemongrass

The Body Shop Earth Lovers Shower Gel - £5/250ml

A few weeks ago when I was in The Body Shop I picked up a Love Your Body card. With it, you are offered an Earth Lovers shower gel worth £5. I hadn't bought from The Body Shop for quite some time, so was excited to "rediscover" what they have to offer. By the time it came to picking this up, I had already spent so much time in the shop I just wanted to leave, so grabbed this one on a whim. Honestly, I've never had a shower product that smelled as divine as this.

I'm quite a fan of the pear scent to begin with, but this is something else. The Earth Lovers shower gels are 100% biodegradable, and sulphate, paraben and colourant-free. This particular gel contains real extracts of pear and lemongrass. The product itself is quite watery, but it still lathers up to a reasonable amount and a little is more than enough. I've heard people say that this shower gel isn't moisturising in the slightest, but I've noticed that my skin does feel softer after use.

This is currently my favourite everyday shower gel and wouldn't have a problem buying it again!

Body Shop Body Mist - Satsuma

I haven't shopped in The Body Shop for ages now. Not much has enticed me in, and I would have much preferred to spend my money at Lush. But recently they released a new collection of body mists and oils, and when I popped in on Saturday, there was an offer of two for £12, and I picked up this and the Coconut Beautifying Oil. 

I was in there for a pretty long time. They have so many scents to this collection that I really struggled on what to choose. I hadn't really thought of sampling the Satsuma body mist at first, but the sales assistant mentioned it's their most popular one and what they had on the shelves were the only stock in the shop. One sniff though and I had to have it. It smells so fresh and uplifting with a decent amount of sweetness added, and I've been wearing it every day since I bought it.

I also really like the simplistic packaging, as it's minimal but still sits pretty on your dressing table. It's definitely a fragrance I would relate to summer, and it feels a lot nicer to wear when it's sunny out. I feel like body mists aren't all that long-wearing, but this lasts me for the entire day and I can still subtly smell it on an evening. I would have picked up a few more of these in Mango and Coconut if I had the money!
