Lush Bath Bomb | Love Locket

When the Lush Valentine's range was released online, I instantly gravitated towards the only bath bomb in the collection, Love Locket. It's definitely the priciest bath bomb I've ever bought from there at £6.95, and if I'm being completely honest, I don't think it's worth it.

Love Locket is quite a large bath bomb, probably on the same scale as Golden Wonder. It's larger than the regulars, but not by much. It's lovely to look at, a pretty pink and yellow heart inspired by necklaces containing photos of your loved ones. I also found the fragrance quite pleasant - girly and floral with some sweetness.

But how does the bath bomb perform? Apparently you're supposed to crack this open (spoiler alert: there's a smaller bomb inside) and use the pieces separately, but I wanted to get the full effect without the hassle of cutting it up with a knife or whacking it with a hammer. So I threw the bath bomb in its entirety into the water, and by the time I got my camera in focus the entire thing had fizzled away! I've never seen a Lush product dissipate so quickly, and I felt quite underwhelmed.

The water transformed into a hot pink shade, spurting out confetti hearts and a stream of glitter, but I was still disappointed. I've had similarly exciting bath bombs in the past such as Golden Wonder, Shoot for the Stars, Twilight and Space Girl but they came in at half the price of Love Locket - so unless you're planning on splitting it up and getting three baths out of this, I wouldn't recommend it.
