Bedroom Bits #2

A few months ago I did a little bedroom accessories post and it was received quite well, so I thought I'd do another but focusing on the bed this time. My bedroom still has a little while to go before it's exactly how I want it, but it's getting there. I actually bought my bed last week, the IKEA Leirvik. It set me back £305 (including the mattress) but it's definitely a far cry better than the single bed I had before! For those wondering what the quality is like, it's very sturdy despite it's delicate appearance.

I bought the fairy lights around the headboard from Primark. They were only about £2-3 and are not the brightest, but they look pretty and add a bit of light during the darker nights.

The owl cushion is from Sass and Belle. I've had this for quite some time now and although it's eyes have been chewed to death (thanks to the ratties) I can't bear to get rid of it. They're around £16 but I'm sure you could find cheaper on Amazon or eBay. The heart cushion is another Primark buy and was only £3. It's detailed with a gorgeous rose pattern, and I'm now after the matching throw.

This is becoming a bit of a Primark centric post but I'm pretty sure my bedding was also from there. I don't think it's available anymore, but IKEA have a very similar one here. For reference, I tend to get all my bedding from Asda, Primark, Tesco or IKEA.

I'm planning on adding a dressing table into my room next, so if anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them!

Bedroom Bits #1

Something I really got into when I moved house in March was decorating my bedroom. I have twice as much space as I did in my previous bedroom and to be honest I've found it a little difficult filling it up! But I'm slowly but surely getting there and Pinterest has given me a ton of inspiration.

I have since been collecting little bits and bobs to dot around the room. One of my favourites is the lantern tealight holder which is an absolute steal at £2.00 from IKEA. It's so pretty and once I finally get a dressing table sorted I'll be picking another up to sit on there. 

I bought the bunny lamp from Amazon. I'd seen it in a number of blogger's room tours and not being one to pass up something so adorable, I had to have it. It's not the brightest of lights but it looks cute and adds something to an empty space. 

While real flowers are pretty, I always get a bit sad when they wither and die so for that reason I prefer fakes. This bunch is from IKEA for £3.00. They're housed in a gorgeous vintage perfume bottle* from Out There Interiors, who also sell a very impressive range of French furniture.

Sass and Belle Rotary Tealight Holder

Blogging is what sparked my love for nail polishes, and along with that came a slight obsession with candles. Prior to this year I'd never owned one single candle, but this has changed. I think they make a room look and smell wonderful, and it's a really comforting feeling to have a candle burning on cold, dark nights. 

I popped into Grasmere Garden Village in the Lakes this past weekend, and they sold the most adorable homeware, with quite a selection coming from Sass and Belle. These tealight holders caught my mind immediately, they're so delicate looking!

Once lit, the holder starts to spin around slowly like a carousel. They come in a wide variety, ranging from doves to owls to reindeer, and I think they would make perfect stocking fillers for Christmas! Sass and Belle also sell other adorable items, including those owl cushions you see everywhere - it's really worth a visit to their website.

things i love - yankee candles.

Yankee Candle Sugared Apple Candle - £7.99/small

If someone asked me what my favourite scent is, I would always respond with something sweet. I prefer sweet scents 10x more than I do any other, and this is reflected in any perfumes/body sprays/candles etc I buy. My most recent candle purchase is Yankee's Sugared Apple candle. 

I don't know why, but something had drawn me into Clinton Cards over the weekend, and I made a beeline for the Yankee Candles. As much as I like some of their regular scents, their Christmas scents are just something else entirely. An avid lover of the Christmas Cookie candle, I was originally going to purchase another after my previous candle had broken. But I started sniffing at all of the Christmas scents (which are all gorgeous!) and found this beauty. 

It smells just as described, sugary, sweet and fruity all at the same time - and perfect for cold nights when you just want to get into bed with a good book and hot drink. This candle is definitely one I'll be picking up in a larger size before the Christmas season is over, I really can't get enough of it!
