Recently I've been neglecting all of my outlandish glitter polishes in favour for more clean, glossy shades. This led to my ordering a couple of polishes from Lena White, and My Vampire is Buff was one of them. 

From the Euro Centrale collection, My Vampire is Buff is a creamy vanilla that is surprisingly flattering on paler skin. Normally shades like this would have me running a mile, but this one's special. The formula is slightly streaky on it's first coat, but no more so than other lighter polishes I own. Three coats provides even and opaque coverage, but those less of a perfectionist than I am will probably be more than happy with just the two. 

I had no problems with drying time and I'm more than satisfied with the glossy results. This is my second off-white shade from OPI (the other is My Boyfriend Scales Walls) and they appear the have the formula spot on. 

If you're normally afraid of nude nails washing you out, I couldn't recommend this polish enough!

Nail Picks - OPI Pirates

OPI Stranger Tides and Planks A Lot - Now £7.00

I've been stuck in a bit of a rut with nail polish at the moment. I have so many, and when I'm out I gravitate towards anything sparkly, but for some reason I've been using the same polishes over and over for the past couple of months. So I'm making a promise to myself to delve into my collection and change up my nails a bit more often. My current picks are both from OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean collection, Stranger Tides and Planks a Lot. 

I loved all of the colours in this collection, and searched the internet high and low for a decent price. At that point I wasn't aware of the reputable eBay sellers I would purchase from now, but I ended up picking these up in a trio in TK Maxx for £14.99.

Stranger Tides is one of my favourite polishes. It's a gorgeous murky green creme. A couple coats of this and you're good to go with no streakiness. Planks a Lot is another creme formula, but far more streaky than Stranger Tides. It takes a good three or four coats for me to get this completely opaque, but I adore the blue-lavender shade. This looks gorgeous with a bit of silver glitter on the tips.

I love the shades in this collection so much I'm tempted to pick up another in future, providing they're still around! What's on your nails at the moment?

NOTD - Winter Wonderland

I know, I know - It's not Winter yet. But I'm feeling the cold at the moment and thought I'd match the temperature with my nails. Polishes used are:-

• OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
• OPI - Crown Me Already!
• Rimmel - Disco Ball

I really like how this turned out, and it does look better on the nails than it does on camera. Although I do have a feeling that it's going to take me the rest of 2012 to remove it!

OPI - My Very First Knockwurst

OPI My Very First Knockwurst

With the amount of nail polishes I'm buying lately, PaintPotted may become a bit of a nail polish blog over the next few weeks! It's weird to think that at the beginning of the year I just had one! I recently added this beauty to my collection, OPI's My Very First Knockwurst from their Germany collection. 

£11 is a lot to spend on one polish, and I'll admit I've never paid full price for any of my OPI products. I've bought a few from TK Maxx (3 for £15? Bargain!) but recently bought this as well as another for £12 including shipping from America. They only took a week to arrive, and I've linked to the seller below the picture.

My Very First Knockwurst has fast become my favourite nude/pink polish. It's not the most opaque upon the first two coats, and I'm wearing three here, but the colour is so gorgeous that I don't have a problem with that. 

Application is easy due to the creamy formula, and has a pretty decent drying time. It's not extravagant in any way, shape or form, but it is perfect for daily wear - office, uni etc. If you're a lover of nude polishes and are still on the hunt for that one shade, I suggest picking this up.
